We are one of the largest automotive service companies in America, with more than 6,000 full-time employees. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and intuitive Tire Category Manager.
Your experience in the tire industry will allow you to easily analyze and predict both customer and industry trends. You will devise promotions, tactics, and both long-term and short-term tactics to maximize the appeal of the company’s products, ensuring profits and growth.
Our perfect candidate understands both the retail environment and customer needs/desires. You should have a full and complete understanding of marketing and sales principals.
Cultivating relationships with our principal suppliers is of the extreme importance. The right candidate understands, promotes, and encourages teammates to support the company’s Good, Better, Best procedure by providing support, as well as merchandising tools.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who can motivate our internal teams to bolster client engagement and loyalty to the company brand by ensuring stores have the right tire, right time, and right price. This will take a candidate who knows how to balance and work with our suppliers, marketing teams, conduct analytics, and positioning of our products to maximize visibility, as well as implement an exit strategy for low-volume products.

The position is based out of Rochester, New York. The Tire Category Manager must live in New York, but we are willing to help the right candidate relocate. A company car is provided as travel to our various locations is required.
Experience with category management, marketing, and sales principles
Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, marketing, or related field of study is preferred. We are willing to consider candidates who have extensive industry experience and/or position-related skills.
Must have a strong analytic mind, have strategic thinking, and the ability to solve problems, and take action to solve problems, issues, and handle concrete variables.
A qualified candidate should be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in a written format.
Our candidate will have excellent vendor management skills, including vendor management structure, alignment of vendors to business objectives, as well as monitor and measure vendor performance. Good negotiating skills are vital!
The right candidate has excellent organizational and planning skills, as well as be proficient in Microsoft Office.
You will need good mathematical skills to calculate tables, analyze data, as well as possess intermediate arithmetic skills.
Domestic Travel Required: 25%
